Healthy diet during Pregnancy: During pregnancy it is important to eat a healthy balance diet for a healthy lifestyle & a healthy baby.
- Vitamins & Supplements: Intake of Vitamins & Supplements are very much essential in pregnancy.
- Folic Acid – Folic acid helps prevent neural tube defects (NTDs) – serious birth defects of the spinal cord (such as spina bifida) and the brain (such as anencephaly).
- Vitamin D – Vitamin D is needed for growth and supplements are recommended for all pregnant women, breast-feeding women and breast-fed babies.
- Iodine – Iodine is known to be important for the healthy development of the brain of the fetus. A woman who is pregnant needs more iodine than usual to supply the developing fetus.
Stay away from Smoking: Smoking or being exposed to tobacco smoke, either before or during pregnancy is associated with a range of poor pregnancy outcomes, including reduced fertility, an increased risk of pregnancy complications and impaired infant and child development.
