Healthy diet during Pregnancy: During pregnancy it is important to eat a healthy balance diet for a healthy lifestyle & a healthy baby.

  • Vitamins & Supplements: Intake of Vitamins & Supplements are very much essential in pregnancy.
    • Folic Acid – Folic acid helps prevent neural tube defects (NTDs) – serious birth defects of the spinal cord (such as spina bifida) and the brain (such as anencephaly).
    • Vitamin D – Vitamin D is needed for growth and supplements are recommended for all pregnant women, breast-feeding women and breast-fed babies.
    • Iodine – Iodine is known to be important for the healthy development of the brain of the fetus. A woman who is pregnant needs more iodine than usual to supply the developing fetus.

Stay away from Smoking: Smoking or being exposed to tobacco smoke, either before or during pregnancy is associated with a range of poor pregnancy outcomes, including reduced fertility, an increased risk of pregnancy complications and impaired infant and child development.

Alcohol Consumption: When a pregnant woman drinks alcohol, it also enters the bloodstream of her fetus, and when excessive amounts of alcohol are consumed they can have damaging effects on the fetus.

Dental Health: There is emerging interest in the effect of the prenatal period on tooth development and the future risk of tooth decay for the child. Pregnancy, thus, is a critical time to focus on good dental hygiene.

Bonding with your baby during pregnancy: Bonding with a baby during pregnancy refers to a process through which a pregnant woman experiences feelings and emotions for her fetus, interacts with her fetus and develops a maternal identity.

It is important to consult with a doctor to make sure you’re exercising appropriately, and pay close attention to your body’s new limits. Just don’t push yourself too hard.
